Welsh Baccalaureate
The WBQ is studied alongside other subject choices – it can be completed at:
- Level 3 advanced
- Post 16 level 2
- Post 16 level 1
The level 3 advanced is successfully passed if a student has passed two full A levels at Grades A*-E and completed the WBQ core of learning that includes three essential skills and three wider skills. The advanced WBQ will be graded A*-C from September 2013.
The Post 16 level 2 WBQ is successfully passed if a student has 5 GCSE subjects at Grades A*-C and completed the WBQ core of learning that includes the six essential/wider skills.
The Post 16 level 1 WBQ is successfully passed if a student has achieved the core of learning at level 1 and additional optional qualifications.
