Course Description The qualification, performing engineering operations (PEO), provides the flexibility to meet both the current and future engineering practices. It exists at two levels, level 1 and 2. It can provide the foundation requirement of the modern apprenticeship when appropriate evidence routes are selected from the level 1 or level 2 route.
The courses is designed to provide a programme of training across a wide range of engineering competences. The programmes are aimed at those students seeking employment in this field and who require the necessary skills that will enable them to progress. Eligible students could also follow the pathways to apprenticeship programme (PTA) which involves a combination of modules and additional qualifications such as the Welsh Baccalaureate and a BTEC award.
A minimum of 5 weeks relevant and structured work experience will be offered to students, outside normal college time, to prepare them for wider employment.
ENTRY Level 2 – Five GCSEs at grade C or above (including maths and science), or an appropriate GNVQ,
or PEO level 1.
