Foundation Degree Sports Science: Exercise and Health Taster Day


We would like to invite you to attend a taster day for The College Merthyr Tydfil Foundation Degree Sports Science: Exercise and Health, which will take place at the college on Friday 14th August at 12.00pm – 3.00pm. Whether you are a student who has just completed your A level or BTEC sport or science qualifications or you are currently working or seeking to work within the Leisure, Fitness or Rehabilitation Sector, this course provides the ideal opportunity for you to:

  • Gain a university level qualification on your doorstep
  • Further your Continuous Professional Development
  • Study for Industry recognised qualifications free of charge, including:
    • Level 2 Gym Instructor
    • Level 3 Exercise Referral
  • Get suitably qualified to work in the growing health and exercise sector

The course provides excellent opportunities for you to obtain a Foundation Degree on your doorstep without having to incur the extra costs of traveling to a nearby university, or moving away from home. The taster event will provide an opportunity for you to learn more about the course, what it entails and how it may be able to benefit you.

The Programme for the Taster session includes:

12.00pm          Refreshments and buffet lunch

12.30pm          Welcome and Overview

12.45pm          Introduction to key aspects of the course topics:


  • Exercise Physiology
  • Exercise Psychology


1.15pm            Practical session

2.15pm            Question and answer session with current and past students

3.00pm            Close
